D20 Norker?

Has anyone converted the old Fiend Folio "Norker" yet? Seems like I saw it somewhere, but can't find it.

My main question, what is the general color of thier skin?

No offense intended (no, really, I'm honestly wondering) but can anybody explain to me what is interesting, what was ever interesting, about the norker?

I mean, aside from etymologically as a dialectical variation on the word "orc." But the fact that I find that interesting is a particular quirk of mine, I admit.

Awww I like norkers, they look interesting. Sometimes I get so bored with more orcs and goblins, it can be nice to know in some other types.

Speaking as a DM, I didn't think much one way or the other about norkers when I got the Fiend Folio just after its release. Just another humanoid.

Then I actually used 'em.

That high armor class they had was damned near invulnerable to the PCs, who were low level at the time. Even just a couple of norkers turned a fairly humdrum encounter into a fight for the PC's very lives. They remained respectable foes until the PCs hit mid-levels, and even then they didn't like seeing them in numbers.

I loved those guys.

The reason i was asking about them was because i have some plastic GW goblin minis that look just like Norkers. So I was trying to decide on a color scheme.

Secondly, I have been working on a totally new campaign world, and I though i might be able to use something unusual to fill the "goblin"-like role. I'd like to use some monsters the players are not so familiar with.

That said, looking thru the 1st ed. Fiend Folio, there was barely two sentences about the norkers, and my 2nd ed. books are not easily accessable at the moment. I will eventually have to find the 2nd ed entry for ideas. The fiend Folio was no help.

Col. - I used them for the same reason. The high AC makes it hard for low level PC's to hit them. I had them occupying a old keep in the Dim Forest in Greyhawk.

Dragongrl - I'd fight your norkers anytime ;)
