D20 Publishers, Does This Project Interest You?

Solo-Adventure Sourcebook.

Judging by several positive responses on the thread, people would be interested in purchasing such a product. And I imagine there would be a lot more out there who havn't looked at it, and would be enthusiastic.

Would any company be interested in putting out such a source book? Even a PDF, for that matter.

These types of things don't tend to do too well. Back in the start of d20, there was a company doing solo modules that were inexpensive until they went with RPGObjects. Good stuff but probably a little difficult to handle.

If you really want to find out if a publisher is interested you need to send proposals to various publishers describing the product(s), the target audience, and the size of the target audience.

A forum, even this one, is not going to get you answers to questions like this (at least not most of the time).

I believe the market for solo adventures is somewhat limited, keep a few things in mind. Internet newsgroups and forums aren't the best place to do "polls" for rpg-related material. The vast majority if gamers do NOT use the internet for gaming-related material or even reviews.

There is at least one d20 publisher that did put out some solo adventures, TSR actually had some a long time ago as well. If you really want to determine a market for solo products you should try to find out how those products performed in the market place.

Check. I'll certainly pose the possibility up to several companies. Of course, I wasn't suggesting I'd write it, but certainly suggest the project. :)

Book of "Solo" Adventures

I took it to mean he wanted a book detailing 1 on 1 adventures (1 player and 1 GM) and not the "programmed" adventures that were once VERY popular.

I think that Phil hit it on the head. This would be a sourcebook showing How to run a Solo campaign, how to setup encounters, etc etc, and possible ideas for adventures, campaign themes, character possibilities, etc.

I imagine this could be done with a beefy PDF.
