I have always found your reviews firm but fair, and very enlightening; I was hoping you (or someone else) would have a review up before I had a chance to pick up a copy - though in truth I was probably planning to get this one anyway I suppose.

Actually, I have a nice shelf full of Lovecraft books. I think its great that they are trying to take CoC to a wider audience. It's just that I am not so sure how much use I will get out of the book. I don't see any problem with BRP CoC and I really don't like to play in literary settings (frex, no WoT for me, either.) At best, I may pick it up if I hear good things about the adaptability of the monster writeup or innovations with the system.
