Well, the final Refection came out about 6 years ago, and they have a new editor now. The new editor has decided to cut back on the production of Trek Books in order to make the lines stronger and leaner and increase the quality. Kind of a focused less is more, allowing the editor to maintain a much closer eye on all of the trek material coming out. It is this that i was referring to, not the older trek. Some of the exciting series that might interest you... Star Trek Titan: A Series about Rikers first command. It takes place after Nemesis and chronicles a completely mutltiracial/cultural crew in an episodic format. There are only three books out there right now. Star Trek Vanguard: A new series set in the TOS era with an original cast. Starfleet has just popped a huge space station in the Taurus Reach, between the Klingons and Tholians and unwittingly awoken something dark and ancient. Kind of a DS9 (but darker) feel set during kirk's first year on the Enterprise. In a serial format, there are only two books out for this... very dark and adult. Lost Era: As series of books that chronicle gaps in trek history. Among them is Art of the Impossible, which connects Star Trek VI and the DS9 and chronicles the Betreka Nebula incident in which the Klingons and Cardassians fought back and forth over 17 or so years. A Time To.... A series that chronicles the time between Insurrection and Nemesis for the TNG gang. I haven't read all of these, but the last three (Kill, Heal, and for War and Peace) are some of the best trek fiction I have read. IKS Gorkon. A series of three book set on a Klingon warship. DS9 Relaunch. if you liked DS9, this continues the tale beyond the seventh season and is as good as the show was at its best. As Ds9 was my favorite i love it. like Ds9 is is more (but not completely) serial in format. They just did a Voyager relaunch, but i am not a voyager fan so i haven't dipped in. Same with Enterprise Relaunch. You might dip back into trek. It is pretty robust and strong right now. As for Star Wars EU, I am just now getting into that. I have been alternating and reading a book set in the Prequel era and then Post Empire. I am only a few books in, and am enjoying it. Both prequel era books I read were great. Shadows of the Empire was pretty good, and I am reading bakura now and that is good. It will probably be a while before I get to the NJO (I am slowly picking them all up), but I am excited to read them! Good Times and good discussion! Razuur
