I thought it best to start another thread for organizers rather than "pollute" the signup thread.

This thread's purpose is to discuss any issues regarding the organizing of the Dallas Game Day on July 21st at Generation X Comics in Bedford.

If you're interested in signing up for the event, please visit:

Speaking of Sponsorships...

Do we want to actively seek sponsorships?

Do you suggest any one to approach?

Would you be willing to send them e-mail asking for sponsorship?

Thanks!

Posting to other boards

This morning I added posts to a local Fort Worth D&Ders Yahoo! Group and the True20 Forum advertising the event. I signed up for the Dallas D&Ders Yahoo! Group and as soon as I get my membership going I'll post there. Hopefully this will generate more traffic to the event.

(PS: I added the date to the Pen & Paper Games calendar for Dallas!)

If you're members of RPGNet or a similar board, can you post there?

It also looks like we have slots for another three games during each period, so I might add a second game to the afternoon and drop out of DKs. I'd like something that would draw a crowd. Here's some possibilities - let me know if you think any of these would be popular:

Old TSR Marvel Super Heroes using HeroClix
A short Dungeon Crawl Classic #11 or #51.5
Faery's Tale

Thanks and keep on truckin'

The first sounds a bit complex for a game day.

At this point, the best bet might be to just sort of wing it. We have two games, and if we have more than about 8 people showing up, we can consider having two concurrent game slots. Otherwise, I'm not certain there'll be enough players for two game slots at a time.

I'd like to have a plan B just in case we are "pleasantly surprised" with the turn out. :)

Since I don't know how much time it will take YNH to prepare and it's up in the air in attendance, I'll ask him to not worry about it. But I'll have a DCC Level 0 module with me, so if there's more than 8 participants, I can step up and take the over-flow. The module has pre-gen characters already and I created character sheets for them in the past.
