[QUOTE="clark411, post: 647742, member: 4768"] If you have a cleric in your party of roughly the same level as your dwarf, ask him very kindly to bless you with Spell Resistance or Spell Immunity at the beginning of battle. You will probably have to ask very, very, very nicely however- as you'll be asking to be impervious to both melee and magic, while the spell could go to those who are lacking in one or both of these departments. Alternatively, if you have an arcane caster in the party with access to craft wondrous item and the expeditious retreat spell, see if you can fanangle something like a boot spur that will, upon saying the appropriate phrase, grant you said spell x/day. Also can try that with NPC wizards with the appropriate feat (Tome and Blood rules for the pricing of this item +/- whatever the DM thinks is needed gpwise) Since you are most likely suffering from the effects of Reflex saves and Will saves (dwarves in heavy armor with big axes scream out "I can't dodge lightning bolts for ale, and am so in the mood to fight I'll even fight my pals... or be held!!" then you may wish to look into Will or Reflex boosting. If you haven't already, consider Iron Will or Lightning Reflexes. Alternatively, invest in a magic item that you can grant yourself Endure Elements with. Since your character is based upon outlasting in combat, I can't see him minding spending possible suprise rounds and definitely the opening round simply activating his defensive gear. The only real thing is, the fighter that looks, walks, talks, and is affected like he is a fortress unto himself will find nothing trying to stand in his way. The fact that wizards actually harm you keeps your allies (like the d4 wizard / sorc / or psion in your party) alive. Heavily armored as you are, you probably aren't the primary target of enemy melee, who will be bum rushing your own magic users- or at least those looking slightly more vulnerable. I'd seriously consider having at least one fairly obvious weakness- there's nothing more dangerous to a party than a fellow party member who cannot be harmed, controlled, or killed, as odd as that may sound.
