Dark-Colored Battlemats?

The dry-erase battle mat that Fiery Dragon includes with their packs is dark, but I'm not sure if you can buy it individually.

When i wanted to buy my first battlemat, I was at a GenCon, and on the last day of the con, all Chessex, or whoever was selling, had left was a small black mat. I've had it for years, but never used it for lack of anything to write on it with. Thanks to this thread, I can finally get some use out of it! Woohoo!

The reverse side of the 'City Market' Paizo flipmat is a plain dark stone, it sounds like exactly what you're after.

Personally I prefer lighter colours so my marker pen shows up better.

You're doing it wrong; paint the miniature's bases gray or tan.
