I was only able to stomach about an hour of this book on tape, however in that time, it was clear that Ed was getting the following points across:
1. He feels "game designers" have ruined his world
2. Points of Light makes a world very unrealistic and not very "fun." In fact, the book goes on and on and on an ON AND ON about how unpleasant "points of light" is.
I was driving across Nebraska at the time and still couldn't inflict more of Greenwood's "words on paper on tape" upon myself, but that's what I heard on that book. My wife, who normally likes fantasy also started going off on what crappy writing it was [edit: because he was groaning about it all the time in this "book"].
Your experiences with "Dark Lord?"
