Message: <blockquote data-quote="cybernetic" data-source="post: 113528" data-attributes="member: 1542">Yes, Yes, and Yes..... <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f631.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":o" title="Eek!    :o"  data-smilie="9"data-shortname=":o" />)Nod does have access to modern technology, they just tend to not use it because they have access to something a little bit better....powerful magics.....Nod is a realm of magic....it is were magic comes from....Nod is also the first of all the realms (at least in my writtings).....the inhabitants of Nod...(which are nopt all vampires...there are many human there as well as angels and daemons...) have come to Eden througout the centuries and have studied earth....Although many people will be really angry with this...I plan on toning down the power of firearms and what so it is more on the level with standard dnd (archaic) weaponry....I know its not very realistic...but neither is the setting itself...there won't be any 3d10 blasters are anything like that...but guns will only be slightly more powerful than crossbows and bows...there are other advantages guns have over bows and crossbows than just power...and I really don't want to degrade the necessity of swords and axes and melee combat...cause that has always been one of my favorite things about RPG combat...swinging a sword!! <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f631.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":o" title="Eek!    :o"  data-smilie="9"data-shortname=":o" />P They fight both magically and with weaponry....much like the inhabitants of Nod...they choose not to use technology...but there reasons are more that mundane weapons cannot help them in divine combat......One of the plans I have is for an "Epic Level" sourcebook for Dark Revelations that allows players to become part of the front lines of this Divine War by playing the more powerful angel and daemon types.....kinda like a deity war.... Over the centuries there have been many sages and seers who have known what was going on....most kept the knowledge to themselves because nobody would beleive them....for example the Templar Knights, Teutone Knights, and Hospitaller Knights have been training for these times for many many years....they are known collectively as the Church Knights or the Inquisition..and have been fighting the few evil vampires and daemons who have came to eden....Overall the Angels, Daemons, and Vampires as well as the mortals who know about the war are trying to cover things up to avoid mass panic across the world....they are also secretly recruiting as well Daemons are tempting new souls, angels are still trying to save souls, the vampires are trying to "set up shop" in eden...and the Inquisition needs more warriors...but since the four realms are starting to meld into one it is growing nearly impossible to cover things up.....i.e.   an gaping hole opens in your back yard and fire spurts fourth as a tall tower of black stone with razor sharp edges rises where your kid's tree house used to be....and a red skinned beast with horns and a barbed whip strolls out...... are you going to beleive the weather guy on tv when he says it must have just been an earthquake???? Magic will be present....much like any fantasy setting it will be important....Nod will the THE magic realm that all magic flows from...it is the glue that binds existance....up until now Magic on eden had been hidden and secret out of fear...now though magic is somewhat common....most magical items and what not will be from Nod.....and even most Wizards gained there master of magic from a mentor who was originally from Nod.....staright human sorcerers do not exist however....they do not have the inborm power that stems from Nod....sorcerers will be from the Aasimar, Tiefling, Kinder, Angelic, or Vampiric races....because they are essential beings of pure magic (angelic races) or or partial magic (the others)........but anyone can "learn" magic....aka Wizards...Now that the realms or melding...weilders of magic are now able to use their talents in the open without fear of persecution.
