Darwin's World

Does anybody know how heavily Fallout, the PC game influenced Darwin's World as I am interested in purchasing it. Also how gritty is the setting?

Any other comments about Darwin's World would also be appreicated.

Darwin's World is a combination of all of the things that make the post-apocalyptic setting great. Fallout, Wasteland, Aftermath!, Gamma World, all these seem to be an influence. I think the game is exceptional in capturing all of these, as well as elements from the good post holocaust movies like Soylent Green, Omega Man, Mad Max series, etc.

The setting is pretty gritty and dark. Generally, it's not a happy world at all.

At the price it sells for, it's a great value, but there is only one adventure avbailable so far. Being an introductory adventure, you'll probably end up making your own. But the information available in the books and on the website provide a wealth of inspiration and ideas.

Hope that helps.
