Wow. I read the Belgeriad when it first came out years ago -- not a great series of books, but the number of folks I knew who got their introduction to fantasy through that series of books (and thus into rpgs) was astounding.

I am sorry he is gone. He obviously had fun writing.

Sad news. I always enjoyed the Belgariad even though I've not read any of his other stuff. I'll have to go read it again in memoriam

Sad news indeed. I loved the Belgariad and Mallorean in high school. They're one of the few series that I have read multiple times. I think I'll break them out again soon.
