Andrew pulled out a map from the Coach's truck and he and Lorenzo opened it up across the hood of Lorenzo's car. They mapped their progress so far, noting where they had been at breakfast and the gas station a few hours earlier. A few of the others joined in as Andrew concentrated on going over what he received from the Coach and what that meant on a map. It looked like they were taking an indirect course that would take longer but keep them out of main cities and routes of travel. Within a day, maybe 2 they would make it to Canada. If they didn't have to stop to eat, refuel or rest it would be a day. With everything they had experienced, no one seemed eager to push through. They all seemed to just be moving along, waiting for the end. Gabe fiddled with the radio and was able to pick up twice as many stations as they had been getting. The local cattle report was interrupted by a story about an explosion at a gas station outside of Osier, Pennsylvania. Reports were mixed but it sounded like a group of locals had tried to stop some unregistered mutants who choose to blow up the gas station rather than be taken into custody for proper registration. Actual numbers were still unknown however, there were several dead and at least that many wounded. The report ended with, "Anyone with information related to this incident or noticing anything out of the ordinary should contact their local law enforcement post with details immediately." It seemed this area of the country was not used to mutants running around, flying through the air. They saw it on the news and read about it but now that it was happening right in front of them, they were definitely panicking.
