Well, I arrived at the College Park Campus to discover that the morning game of Serenity that I had signed up for had been cancelled. Just as I was about to dig up $12 and pony up to play in the MtG game forming, I heard the voice of an angel... err... Well, I head TheUniverse, at least. He was calling for two players (he being 2 players short of a full crew). I was lucky and snagged one of the seat. All I can say is... Wow!!! First off, I am still not very enamored of the idea of a supers game with levels (even if it is published by the wonderful folks from Green Ronin), but I never had to deal with levels in this game as we were playing with pre-gens, and I don't think that levels came into play at all during the course of the game. The "Wow!!!" is for the GMing skill of The Universe. He is one of the best GMs that I have ever played under. If you ever get a chance to play in one of his games (and I do not care what system he is using), then I strongly suggest you take it. It is well worth it. I won't spoil the game by spilling any of the details (IIRC, he is gonna run it at GenCon maybe), but if you can get into this game, then do so!! After the first session ended, almost everybody from the first game stayed put as one of the other players was our GM for the second session. I had a very very lucky day on Saturday. Not only did I get to play under an excellent GM for the first session, but I got to play under and equally excellent GM for the second session. Rodrigo, take a bow!! Rodrigo ran a western themed game using Grim Tales. I had a blast (especially with firing the rifle.. hehe). Like the morning session, this one was also truly memorable. As with TheUniverse, if you can ever join a game that Rodrigo is running, then do so!!! I would definitely like to thank these two guys for making the Game Day well worth the 2+ hour drive I made to get there (not to mention the drive home hehe).
