Unlike the hardcover adventure, there is no ifs and buts here - the only way the adventurers will reach T1 is after the sinkhole has opened up. The alternative (non-sinkhole) entries from the hardcover has been removed from their respective locations (Red Larch locations #16 and #18), the editor just forgot to adjust the T1 description to match the removed possibility of reaching the location without triggering the sinkhole event.
