"Web-based tools" could mean a lot of things. It could just mean something like an Encounter Builder like they had before. The Compendium is basically a "web-based tool." I would like to believe that WotC is intentionally designing the DDI so that each table only needs to have one subscription: it's a feature that a table of 5 players + 1 DM can sign up for about $1.50/month collectively, and I don't think they'd be in a hurry to take that from us.I'm happy we're getting something. I really wish we'd get Dark Sun and Essentials stuff in the CB, but if it's going into the Compendium, at least it's there, in some capacity. I'm looking forward to the CB update that'll include them.
