Deathless template from Eberron for a PC

Has anyone been involved with a game where a PC had the deathless template from Eberron? How did it play out? Was it balanced? Is this a +0 LA template? In the Eberron Campaign setting guide, it doesn't say how the template affects the CR or LA of the subject creature.

I have an arenal elf cleric in an eberron campaign with leadership; as her cohort, I got an undying elf - I didn't want a fighter for a cohort, but an advisor, so I'm using the Marshal class.

As I recall, he has the elf stat adjustments, and all of the undying type characteristics on page 275 of the eberron core book + DR 5/targath (undying soldier has this). It's a +1 level adjustment. Combat wise, he's not any more powerful than the 4HD undying soldier in the book. I wish they would make a proper undying template, though.. =(

Deathless isn't a template, it's a subtype of undead (originally from exalted deeds and transplanted into eberron). A deathless PC would warrant a rather hefty level adjustment, as you get most (all?) of the substantial undead immunities but as a "positive energy undead", avoid most of the downsides.
