[QUOTE="Starmaster, post: 9239419, member: 7042521"] There are now 10 reviews on Amazon, all of them poor. It's true that one of them is complaining about water damage in shipment, but the rest are pretty much whining about the quality of the cards, with some providing photos. They are also all "verified purchasers", meaning they bought the items through the Amazon website and did not buy them somewhere else just to use the Amazon site to complain later. And all reviews were filed since the Jan 5 release date. I'm not going to disagree with the above assessments regarding the quality of Amazon reviews or the reviewers, but I doubt that all ten reviewers are stupid, dishonest, or whatever. I have a different hypothesis. To the best of my knowledge, the defective version of this product was never made available to the general public. I know that some early copies were sent out to reviewers, but the rest were recalled a couple of weeks before the original scheduled release date of Nov 14. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this. So how are all these copies from the early print run supposedly showing up on Amazon? I think that perhaps some distributer got the message that the release date for the product had changed but did not know that the reason for the delay was because the original copies were recalled, and so he just held on to the defective product until the new release date came along and then started shipping out his defective product on Jan 5 instead of the new print run. That doesn't mean all the ones coming from Amazon (or perhaps one of the Amazon merchants) are bad, but perhaps some of them are coming from this old stock. I don't know if this is the case or not (as I said, it's just a hypothesis), but it would explain why so many Amazon customers say they are getting old copies while they people who are buying from FLGSs or other sources say their cards are great.
