Be sure your party is okay with this. A healing cleric does 2 things that I don't particularly like: 1. With one party member not contributing to party damage output, combat takes longer. 2. As a leader with too much focus on healing and too little on party buffs, you may end up with no good way to boost your allies' accuracy, mobility, or damage output, which are important parts of a leader's job. Party size and make up is rather important to how well a healic will work. For instance if you have a party of 4 with a Guardian Fighter, an Earth Warden, an Infernal Warlock, and a Shielding Cleric, the healing you provide will keep the party up and running for a long time, but a long time you will need to take down your enemies. As another example, if you have a party of 6 with an Assault Swordmage, a Protecting Paladin, a Predator Druid, a Commanding Avenger, a Thaneborn Barbarian, and a Shielding Cleric, the leadership role for buffing each other will be split between several party members, and there will be plenty of striking to go around, so in this group, the Shielding Cleric would work. But so would any other leader. If a healing focus floats your boat, Shielding Cleric is the best you will find. But getting a little subjective here, I personally would get bored playing one. Every other leader build is more interesting to me. In 3.x I rather disliked the role of a cleric being the mobile wand carrier, after around the 3rd round of combat and perhaps the Shielding Cleric reminds me too much of that role.
