Degrappling in SW-SE

How does one break out of a grapple in Star Wars- Saga Edition? I couldn't find it spelled out anywhere. Since it says "A grappling attack is treated as an unarmed attack..." (pg 153), does that mean you have to hit with a successful attack each time you want to grapple someone? Thanks!

Once you have successfully grappled someone (opposed grapple checks), the only way to break the grapple is for him or her to take a standard action to break free (1 grabber per CL).

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean they need to beat you in an opposed grapple check or as long as they take the standard action they're free?

That's for a grab, not a grapple.

If you are not being pinned, and have a standard action available, you simple declare you are breaking free (1 grabber per CL).

Well, it actually doesn't matter, because if you are successfully pinned you wouldn't be able to take the standard action to break free.

So then how do you break out of a pin? Just wait for someone to force the pinner to drop you?

Does a grappling combat go straight to the grapple check as long as the opponent was Pinned in the previous round or does the grappler need to continue to make grapple attacks each round they want to Pin and Crush an opponent? To me the rules sound like you need to make both the grapple attack roll and opposed grapple check each round. Thanks!

No, you are considered grappled until you break free, so they would only have to make the opposed grapple (pin) check to pin you each round as long as you have not taken a standard action to break free.
