Let's face it, Elrond's practically just a walk on role in The Hobbit, so why not let him voice Smaug as well. Let's not forget that John Rhys Davies did the same thing in the trilogy, acting as Gimli and voicing Treebeard as well.  And no, I don't think this is a daft idea. I thought Weaving did an excellent job voicing Megatron in Transformers. I was honestly surprised how different his voice was, that I wouldn't have realized it was him. Interesting choice. Wincott could probably pull it off.</blockquote>
