While there are a few comics stores there are mainly 2 game stores in Birmingham AL: Nord's: At the Galleria in Hoover. One of a small national chain that features Reaper Minis, of which they have the whole catalog. They also carry a wide selection of D20, GURPS, WoD, and a few other RPG books. They carry board games as well, and a few card games. The main problem is that its a) in the mall and b) since its a chain the manager doesn't seem to have lots of control over his stock. Our main supplier however, is: Legion, formerly Empire Comics: which actually has 3 stores in a small store front, one for comics, one for animie, and one for games. The game store is practically quentisential, questionable lighting, clutered, and kinda dirty. But Paul has been making improvements. This where we pick up most of our new stuff and magazines, as well as the ever present comic addiction. It has an extensive out of print game selection, but sometimes its hard to find things. Still, go once or twice a week. Its a big WoD place, with a ton of LARPers on weekends. The old Lion and the Unicorn is no more, but has kind of merged with the Baseballcard Shop and still has some CCGs and comics, but no RPG material. Kingdom Comics has mostly WizKids Touranaments, HeroClix, MechWarrior, and Pirates but no RPG. However, Stan will order almost anything for you. My wife and I tend to hit all of these in the course of a month, Legion several times. OH, there is a Hobby Town that carries some minis and has a few RPGs, but thats not their focus. Other than that its BAM. PS have heard that a large game store called Crimson Castle has opened in Tuscaloosa recently, but know nothing more of it.
