ren1999

First Post
Pool of Radiance
Curse of the Azure Bonds
Secret of the Silver Blades

Champions of Krynn
Death Knights
Dark Queen

Eye of the Beholder
Legend of Darkmoon
Assault on Myth Drannor

These games are awesome and capture some of the feeling of the D&D most of us want to return to but with the best of 4th Edition and Pathfinder included

Wow. That brings back memories. lol.

I loved playing the Pool of Radiance games when I was a teen. I especially liked how hidden treasure items were sometimes revealed.

Thanks for the memories ren1999.

I wonder how well they've survived the ages. I've pondered giving them a replay, but decided I was probably better off playing some of the ones I missed that are more recent (never finished ToEE or NwN2, or played Icewind Dale 2 or Baldur's Gate 2, for example)

You never played BG2? Wow, are you missing out. Greatest CRPG ever written. Why are you reading forums...go, get it, play it!!

As to the old classics, damn I was fond of those. Especially champions of Kryn and Pools of Darkness (Not listed here, but was a epic level conclusion to the pool of radiance line)

I still go through phases of replaying these games.
Oh how I wished someone would make a 4E DnD equivalent (turn based!!). 4E is perfect for that kind of computer game implementation.

Played them all several times and loved them. Even hacked the Pool of Radiance -> Pools of Darkness games to avoid the demihuman level caps.

This, this, a million times!!!

Ever since I finished reading 4e Player's Handbook I've been saying to myself: "Great Scott! When someone adapts this into a videogame, said videogame will kick untold amounts of ars!!!"

Sadly, such a thing never came and we where left in the dark with crap like that xbox live game and that facebook money-whore that is Heroes of Neverwinter.

I really enjoyed ToEE, played it all the way thru several times. Couldn't get into Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment, which are said to be the really good ones.

ToEE was interesting to me because it's pretty much the only time I've seen a D&D party with parsimonious casters, who save their spells for the big fights and let the non-magic guys deal with small fry.
