[Devil’s Workshop] Announcing the Countdown Series
Louis Porter Jr. Design, in association with Devil’s Workshop, is announcing its new D20 Modern adventure series, Countdown. The Countdown series basically put are adventures that are played in actual real time in comparison to regular games and sessions where time is of little importance. For example, five minutes of real time is five minutes of actual game time.
“Being a huge fan of the television series, 24, I always thought doing something like that would be the perfect thing for gaming, specifically D20 Modern and Haven: Full Metal Zero. I can’t tell you how many times I have been a group where we debated for 30 minutes on one silly thing like who would go first or if we would take a particular passage or not. The Countdown series are built on the concept of making fast decisions and living with them,” comment Louis Porter Jr., president of Louis Porter Jr. Design. “A lot of 4 hour games spend more time talking about other things and not actually role playing. The Countdown series cuts that out because every minute in the games actually counts. We are using time to help build suspense, tension and excitement in a gaming session. And that will make a better experience for all involved.”
The first of the Countdown adventure series for D20 Modern are planned to be released Sunday, January 14, 2007 to coincide with the with the two-hour sixth season premiere of 24.
