Plantation, FL – Cold Visitor, the first adventure from Louis Porter, Jr. Design newest D20 imprint, Devil’s Workshop, is now available from RPGNow.com at a special introductory price of only $5.
“We think this is something that has been missing in the realm of adventure gaming. This is just good old-fashioned “survival horror” adventure for players. Too often players will receive an adventure and all they have to do is hunt down the monster in its lair and kill it to get some incredibly powerful weapon or valuable treasure. With the Devil’s Workshop adventures, the hunter becomes the hunted,” said Louis Porter, Jr., President & CEO of Louis Porter, Jr. Design. “Our adventures normally start off in high gear, with the trouble going after the players and the player have to ‘catch up’, or more appropriately ‘keep running’ until they can find out what is going on.” stated Porter “We want every adventure we create to be a challenging time for players. We want party members to be severely injured and even die in the process of playing in our adventures. Our feeling is if these adventures don’t kill off a few PCs, then we are not doing our job right.”
Cold Visitor is the adventure that was made for fans of the classic and 80's remake horror film, the Thing. Dungeon Masters and players will have an enjoyable adventure with this fantasy D20 version of this classic Horror/Sci-fi movie. The party members will be questioning themselves and other party members. Who can you trust when you can't trust anyone? How do you fight a creature that can look like anyone, including yourself?
“This is the start of a long line of adventures from Devil’s Workshop that can be used as either one-shot adventures or in conjunction with a long running campaign,” commented Porter. “The best part of these adventures is with such a high level of risk to them, we have also given great reward for them, whether it be gaining high levels of experience or powerful magical items. For once, these adventure’s rewards are worth the level of danger.”
