Dog House Rules Publishes Branded for Recoiled Wild West Supplement
July 31, 2004—Fort Griffin, TX: The Dog House Gang is riding into Fort Griffin, Texas, to announce the release of the inaugural issue of Frontier Towns, in support of the Sidewinder: Recoiled RPG.
Frontier Towns: Fort Griffin Vol. 1 is a 55 page PDF game supplement in the Branded for Recoiled line of products. Each Frontier Towns product will come with a ready-made setting and stand-alone buildings complete with maps, history, inhabitants, adventure hooks and full interior descriptions, designed to help Judges flesh out their western role playing game. The supplement can be used right off the shelf, or Judges can pick and choose which establishments, adventure hooks and personalities to fit into an existing Old West campaign.
The PDF product, available at RPGNow will come with black and white and color file versions, as well as additional map files, for one low price of $6.75.
To facilitate the game setting, Dog House Rules will be offering FREE maps of Fort Griffin and the North Central Texas area as downloads available exclusively at the Dog House Rules LLC web site (www.doghouserules.net).
Frontier Towns: Fort Griffin Vol. 1 delivers the following content:
Shannsey’s Saloon: Based on the legendary saloon where Doc Holliday met Wyatt Earp, Shannsey’s offers a gathering place for soldiers, buffalo hunters and famous gunfighters. No telling who you might meet here, but don’t be surprised to see Lottie Deno (“The Poker Queen”) dealing a hand of faro.
Pete Haverty’s Livery: You’ll probably want to water and secure your horse before you do much else in The Flat. You can count on Pete and Henry Sixkiller to do right by your trusty steed.
York & Meyers Outfitters: Need supplies before setting off on the trail? Lucky for you, H.E. Chapin and his staff keep the place well-stocked. If they don’t have it, no one does. And behave yourself; Queenie can smell trouble clear across town.
Beehive Saloon: If you’re itching for a buzzing good time, come see why the locals say the “Hive is Alive.” Dancing girls, old-timey piano, dice games, faro, poker, and plenty of good spirits. Not to mention the likes of Big Nose Kate, Doc Holliday and Mike Fogerty.
Picket Jail: The Flat might be wild and wooly, but it isn’t lawless. If you stir up too much trouble, you might earn a “visit” to Picket Jail, courtesy of Sheriff Billy Cruger and his deputies.
Tying It All Together: For Judges using the whole Fort Griffin setting, this bonus section provides additional adventure hooks (for a total of 35 hooks) and personalities to help . . . well . . . tie it all together.
Battle Maps: Scale battle maps (15mm and 25mm) suitable for printing for table top gaming as well as Judge Reference Maps are also included with Frontier Towns.
Dog House Rules LLC, publisher of Sidewinder: Recoiled, is a role playing game company with a staff of five part-time designers located in Colorado and Florida. Point your browser to www.doghouserules.net for more info.
