Diamonds of the Dead

Found a rather interesting article in "Offbeat News at CNN.com.

It seems that this company in Italy is having people send them their loved ones ashes and squeezing them into artificial diamonds for commemorative purposes.

DM's, something to think about the next time you stock a treasure hoard. Imagine the possibilites. Might even be a new monster in that somewhere.

So would that mean that if a cleric tried to turn a dead-diamond it would change to coal? Shatter?

And what if these dead-diamonds could be used like magic statuettes--once a week for 24 hours they could revert to their previous living form?

Hmm... Dead people on paintings, huh? And seeing as I am already using the haunted painting from a few months back as an important component of my campaign... I think I just found a plot gimmick for it. Thanks!
