Did MOTW include new animals?

Wippit! Where's the Giant Chicken on your list?!

I of course distinguish the Giant Chicken from the unrelated Dire Chicken, since the latter lacks the Supernatural Crowing of the former. But either way, I can't imagine a game going ahead without one of the other. Help the PCs understand how that farmer got to be a 15th level Commoner; it was by rearing the Giant Chicken!

:D

(Actually, I wouldn't mind a few more mundane animals statting up; they are a part of the environment, and some characters can make use of them, PC or NPC)

I agree that a book of real world animals would be a great addition to the game. Not just animals as we know them now as well. maybe some exticnt viarities. Or a system for inventing animals for fantasy settings that would have that real feel.

How about a herd of glyptodons? :D

I'd start with the animals that are mentioned in the DMG but not statted in the game! One of my players has a Bag of Tricks, and I have to improv stats on half the creatures.

Also, as an item of note, creatures that were once living but now extinct are listed as Beasts, not Animals. It makes me wonder - if we manage to drive say, cheetahs, into extinction, will the MM need to have errata listed changing its type?

:)

tortoise corrections

Just a few notes on your tortoise stats.

As a 7HD animal it should have a +5 BAB and with a strength of 16 it should have a +3 strength modifer so the bite should be +8 melee and the damage should be +3 not +2.

With a Wisdom of 10 and 7HD animal saves the Will save should be +2.

I would like to see your other animals, particularly the otter.
