Hi all! :) Hello Scott mate! :) Do you know they won't be in the book or are you making an educated guess!? What we do know is that the Egyptian; Greek; Greyhawk and Norse Pantheons will be included; totalling slightly over 70 gods. Each deity is detailed in 3 column format. So if we assume: 16 Egyptian Gods (as in 1st Ed D&Dg) 17 Greek Gods (as in 1st Ed D&Dg) 19 Greyhawk Gods (as in the PHB) 21 Norse Gods (as in 1st Ed D&Dg) Total 73 (about 110 pages) Lets assume a further 8 pages per Pantheon (Monsters, Spells, Artifacts) and an additional 8 for Contents/Index/Credits/Introduction etc. Total 150 pages so far. This leaves (approx.) 74 pages to detail the Divinity Rules - which even though they could have upwards of 100 Salient Divine Abilities certainly won't take even half that figure. Even if we assume 36 pages are used herein; that still leaves us with 38 pages to play with. Which, since we know they don't specifically regard Demon Princes as Deities (and therefore they may not be included in the Press Release total of 'over 70 deities') they won't have to include the first column of text or Avatar details, so presumably they could detail 38 in single page format!? Personally, I think not detailing the Demon Princes et al. within Deities & Demigods has both good and bad implications. The good; that they will no doubt command their own book at some later date. If detailed in D&Dg they won't be able to fit everybodies favourites in! The bad; that many people were looking forward to these beings and that if indeed they are to be detailed in a future product - such work is a long way away (since it hasn't been mentioned) - unless of course they plan on detailing them in the Epic Level Handbook!? Which would be quite a surprise! :D In fact the more I think about it the more this sounds like a shrewd idea! ;)
