[DireKobold] When I was a boy I wanted to be a ballerina

EOL

First Post
A couple of things to announce right of the bat. First we released a new adventure, "Band of the Silver Coin" by Robert Kai. Robert is a relative newcomer to the world of RPG Freelancing but I think you'll be seeing more of him. He's got some good ideas and a true desire to make character's lives as interesting (difficult) as possible (definitely a good quality in an adventure writer). In conjunction with that I released the snippet for "Legacy of Horrors" our previous adventure.

Oh, in case you're wondering the subject comes from "View from the Bushes" the place where I post my daily musings. It's completely free (it would have to be I couldn't charge for it), it's just my little gift to the D20 community (when you think of "gift" think of the way your significant other might tell you that your dog left you a gift in the living room).

In any event check it out, sign up for a demo subscription, tell your friends, cut up your credit cards, fight the power and call your cable provider about carrying OLN the station of the Tour de France. (I'm serious about that Lance Armstrong is a god.)

I just took a look at the adventure, and I have to sit back and marvel. When Direkobold first mentioned that they were going to publish on-line adventures I immediately set to work in writing one, and my first effort is here. It's pretty cool to hold something you wrote in your hands, especially with the artwork and maps. And despite the fact that Ross wanted to be a ballerina as a child, he was great to work with in getting this out.

Now I'm going to go back and change the options and see how it turns out. I love that.

It's scalable from 7th to 13th levels, and the plot description that Ross has written up is: "The plot concerns the return of a crime boss returning to the city to exact his revenge. "

Of course there is a lot more to it than that.

When I started brainstorming for the adventure, I thought about what motivated the players in my group. Motives tended to be greed, revenge, and a little bit of fear. I tried to incorporate a little of all three in to the adventure.
BTW, when I say "revenge" I mean it as the players getting revenge for what is done to them, not some NPC's revenge that plays into the plot. Although there is that as well.

Hope you like it.
