Pretty much since the release of 3E D&D I've been tinkering with a Discworld d20 conversion. Problem is, I also DM a lot -3 current campaigns, homemade adventures only- and my homebrew world takes a lot of time to make, so I don't get too much time left over for my pet discworld project. Yeah, I know there's a Discworld GURPS out, but I don't like GURPS much so I'd still like to see Discworld d20 completed someday. Not for commercial purposes, simply to be able to play it with my friends. So far I've got the PC races and classes nailed down: Dwarf, human, troll and vampire; Alchemist, cleric, monk, witch, wizard, hedge wizard, rogue, bard, barbarian and fighter. The troll and vampire are not the one's from out of MM, they are my own Discworld-specific creations. Alchemist and witch are core classes of my own design, made specifically to fit the setting. Hedge wizard is the discworld name for the PHB druid. I've gone through the Monster Manual, making a list of what creatures fit in the setting. I've stated the Lancre Ram (a ram so tough, it's wool can be used to knit the equivalent of a mithril chain shirt!). I've made all the iconic NPCs from Lancre (had to do Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax all over again when I got the Epic Level Handbook, of course!) I've assigned domains (some homemade) to all the Gods mentioned in the 'Discworld Companion'. (Discworld has more than 3000 gods, with new ones being discovered nearly every day!) Any discworld fans out there (and if you've bothered to read this far, you must be a fan!) will now realize there's still a ton of work to be done. The many different monk orders of discworld, for one thing; how do I make each one stand out from the others? (I don't want to make the balancing monks unbalanced!) There's a lot of critters to be made yet. Ice giants, for one thing. They need to be a lot tougher than the frost giants in MM, they have after all waged war with the Gods and survived! The aquatic trolls encountered by Rincewind in book 1 could easily be water elementals with slightly better stats... There's a ton of amazingly cool NPCs still to do, obviously. :D Looking forward to some of those! To get to the point (finally!), I was wondering if anybody else on these boards would like to play discworld d20? If so, would they also be interested in contributing material? (Aha!) They would of course have to be intimately familiar with both the Discworld series and 3E D&D. As I mentioned, this is strictly for personal use, not for commercial purposes. There's no money to be had here, only a lot of fun work, hopefully followed by a lot of fun play. I just hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws here! :( If I am, I guess this thread won't be very long-lived...
