Disguise Self & Wings?

Can disguise self be used to hide a pair of wings? If not, can it be used to make them appear to be different types of wings (e.g. bat wings instead of feathery wings)?

Finally, is there a type of winged humanoid creature that one could disguise oneself as?

I would argue that Disguise Self could not hide them by itself. It could provide a +10 bonus to the Disguise Skill to hide them, but could not automatically hide them.

Alterself would hide them, in my opinion, without needing a roll since it can create them. To me, a logical consequence is to be able to hide them.

In terms of changing their type (feather to bat, etc.) I would argue that Disguise Self is capable of doing this.

Note: I'm going off my memory here and not the SRD or any books off-hand. Might want to take mine with a grain of salt.

Although you couldn't make them disappear, one option is to simply make them look like something else (for example, if an Imp were trying to pass himself off as something normal, he could make it look like he's carrying a huge backpack- which I plan on using in an upcoming low-level adventure). As for making them look like another pair of wings, that's kinda the point of the spell, isn't it? Making you look like something similar?

Anyway, as for Winged Humanoids, there's a race of Winged Elves in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (in Races of Faerun), and in Races of the Wild, there's a new race called Raptorans that are basically people with wings that have limited flight capability. They'd be pretty easy to disguise oneself as, I'd think.
