Dispell Magic Question

Hi,

Can the following spells be dispelled with a successful Dispel Magic check ?

Fog Cloud
Insect Plague
Solid Fog
Wall of Ice
Wall of Stone

Hope you can help.

You can dispel any spell that does not say otherwise in its description. IIRC, none of these is exempt from dispelling. And even if the spell has an area of effect, you can target it specifically with no chance of accidentally dispelling other magic in the area.

Yes to all except wall of stone. Any spell with non-instantaneous duration (with a few exceptions) can be dispelled.

hong is correct. If a spell is listed as "Duration: Instantaneous", the magic only operates for an instant, leaving behind its effects. In the case of Wall of Stone, once the wall has been created, it is ordinary nonmagical stone and cannot be dispelled.

If a spell has a timed duration, or is permanent, then its effect only lasts as long as the magic. Such a spell can always be dispelled, unless its description speficially says otherwise (like Wall of Force does).
