Diversity in gaming?

I'm in a d20 mode here...I'm looking for something at least as divergent from the "norm" as Tome Of Magic, Magic of Incarnum or Elements Of Magic. Most of the stuff I'm finding available are "my fusion of Favored Soul and Monk" sorts which are really kind of French vanilla with regular vanilla on top.

Are there very different and balanced things I'm missing out there? Is psionics likely to scratch my itch? I'd like to find mechanically interesting systems that aren't onerous to track at the table.

I'm looking for suggestions, not a flamewar so please try to keep it reasonable.

Edited for clarity...

I would definitely recommend Elements of Magic Revised.
It's quite different than the core rules, but can still accomplish the same things if you want.
I've used it a lot.
I prefer it over the core rules, even with the alternative magic books.
