DL Setting predictions

My oldest son has now read the dragonlance novels 4 times, and would like to buy the setting book. What do you all think will happen to this licensce? Will WotC release a new version if the movie is pulled off? Should we just break down and spend the big bucks? Is the latest version 3.5 or 3.0?

They've come out with a lot of good supplements for DL since 3.5 came out, but since WotC pulled the liscense, there probably won't be any more. Sovereign Press is publishing a new setting, so it's probably the end of DL products except for novels. The good news is that their is enough DL material to last you a lifetime of gaming, and it's good quality. Get what you want now, before they are out of print.

The Dragonlance Campaign Setting from WOTC, and subsequent material from Spvereign Press/Margaret Weis Productions is all D&D 3.5 (in fact, it was the first setting released for 3.5).

In spite of the loss of the license, there's plenty of good gaming material in Dragonlance 3.5 to keep a game going for years. Races of Ansalon was just released yesterday, with more to follow. And even if you don't go in for supplements, the campaign setting book by itself (along with the core D&D 3.5 books) will get you going.

That said, the SVP/MWP supplements are probably the best RPG products I own. To the point that I'm seriously considering buying a second set of them and locking them up in a vault somewhere

Originally I just wanted the campaign setting + war of the lance source book, but I ended up buying everything they had released in the next 2-3 months. Oops.
