Hello DnD players! I just wanted to mention that I have recently posted a significant update to my program: DM Genie - 3rd Edition role-playing software. If you've never tried it then you should know that DM Genie is a full-featured software suite that's a great help in running your game. You can create monsters or PCs at the click of a button, cast spells or manifest psionic powers and have their effects automatically apply. The PC Leveling Wizard makes it a snap to create a PC or NPC, so DM Genie is great for players too! With a huge database (everything from the core rule books: 2000 items, 570 monsters, 540 spells, 270 psionic powers, etc.) you can use DM Genie as your in-game reference. Since the last couple of updates, the effects of feats are now handled completely automatically. There is now great support for metamagic feats. Also, speed has been significantly improved and DM Genie is now more responsive. And, as always, lots of the features you wanted have been included. Download the free trial version at: http://www.dmgenie.com/download.shtml Features include: Character Sheet exports; Adventure creation with maps and monsters; Multiple campaigns; Import/export functions; Customizable rules; Dice-roller; Weather generator; Tracking time and movement; and much more... Here is the list of changes in the latest updates: Major Changes in version 1.20 * Speed Improved: The program is now more responsive - some tasks are twice as fast as before. * Metamagic Feats: Use the 'Meta Cast' to popup a window where you choose what metamagic feats to apply when casting a spell. * Memorizing Spells: The new 'Memorize' and 'Meta Mem' buttons will memorize your spell AND subtract from the remaining spell slots. * Weapon Maker: Now keeps the name you enter, and also keeps the magical effects of the special abilities the weapon may have. * Turn Undead feat: Now tracks the number of turns per day (click 'Stop' to reset). * 'Inactive' checkbox added in the Notes tab: An inactive character in PC's Party will not enter combat (using the Quick-Combat buttons) and will not be calculated in the PC's Party average level. * Carrying capacity: You can now multiply your mount's calculated carrying capacity by a number (1.5 for quadrupeds). Major Changes in version 1.19 * Feat effects are now applied automatically! You can enter the effect of a feat by using VBScript. * New 'Use Feat' button: You can program any feat to perform nearly any action you might wish. * Metamagic Feats: Automatically adjusts the spell slot used when casting a spell that has been maximized/enlarged/etc. * Multi-level Undo: Enabled for rich text boxes in Campaign Manager, Class Editor, Timekeeping. Single-Level undo in the other rich text boxes. * Spell Casting: Now displays the spell's DC in the Combat Log. * Classes: Data added for up to 40 levels in each PC Class (except psionic classes). * Encounter Difficulty: 'Get % of XP' box for each PC allows you to give less XP to henchmen or none to familiars.
