Message: <blockquote data-quote="BrokeAndDrive" data-source="post: 5212557" data-attributes="member: 89265">Hot damn, this is a LOT more concise than my own response to the whole "bind efreet, get three wishes" paradigm:[sblock]Oh and be sure to totally abuse the planar binding spell to force dozens of efreeti to grant you one-hundred wishes!  At the very least you can bring everyone in the party's ability scores to +5 inherent bonus each, and get you all a bunch of magical trinkets like that +5 vorpal greataxe of brilliant energy you've always wanted.  Because entire families of prideful, narcissistic, evil alien beings from Outside Reality surely don't mind being used as wish-mules by a bunch of mortal chumps, y'know?  They certainly won't respond to being used like snotrags by weaklings by plotting and scheming with the malice that only insulted lawful evil outsiders are capable of, and pull the vast political strings that efreeti all are capable of pulling and completely ruin you and all that you love and fight for.  Since, obviously, the "they might try to get revenge" clause isn't actually right there in the Pelor-damned spell's description, right?  Unlike what they've told you (and by they, I mean the Pelor-damned spell's description), planar binding spells work just like in Final Fantasy, and summoned beings don't freaking exist when not currently summoned.  Out of sight, out of mind, eh smart guys?  I bet most people think "summon" means "cast a spell that FOR SOME REASON WHEEE~!! looks like a big monster that kills my enemies".  Thank you, Square.Any DM should allow an unwise, foresightless munchkin who doesn't wanna play nice to get three wishes from binding an efreet or two, but make them pay dearly for their insolence.  Keep in mind that even mortal kings and emperors, who command all those dragons and armies of necromancers and undead, are probably not even half the CR 8 the NORMAL, AVERAGE JOE efreet is.  Now remember that simple, low-ranking efreeti probably have a big brother, who has a big brother, who has a big brother, who has a father, who has allegiences with other noble houses, who collectively command legions of red dragons, fire elementals, and hundreds of thousands of enslaved mortal warriors, and who are now all quite pissed at this insignificant handful of pitiful mortals (incase you haven't figured it out by now: they're talking about YOU) for impugning their noble family name and insulting the entire efreeti people.  Yeah you got three wishes at a much lower level, but if you do, I recommend not answering the door when Hell comes a'knockin'.[/sblock]Brevity is beautiful.On-topic: just remember this phrase (I forget who said it):If your DM ain't cryin', your wizard ain't tryin'!</blockquote>
