[DM TOOLS] Prophesy in Fantasy Games

I was looking at some of the "Prophecy" that I have used in my games and got to wondering how many folks did similar and how it impacted their games?

Here is one that I use.

From the Fifth Century Works of Amiranda, Mistress of the Seers Circle


the wings of crows
fluttering darkly over the doomed
bear false light for god’s children

the wings of crows
drifting above fields of war
whisper in dreams of frost and of stone

the wings of crows
soaring on the backs of the dead
call to Bitterness

On the wings of crows
He comes, He comes with a murder of crows
He comes.

I've used a loaded deck of Tarot cards a couple of times... I think props are great!

I have also mangled some of Nostradomous's (sp) Quatrains before.....doing something like they did in First Wave.

I don't use cards much but that might be a good idea.

I've used prophesy, used tarot cards, used a lot of future sight things. I have playewrs who like it, who enjoy trying to figure out the mystery so it workd well. But I've also had players that have rolled their eyes at it, so it really depends on who's in the PC circle for me to use it.
