That is to say, one DM and one player, the player taking on the role of a member of the <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/301641/Blood-Hunter-Class-for-DD-5e-2020?src=hottest_filtered&filters=45469" target="_blank">Blood Hunter</a> class. The class was created by Matthew Mercer, but the author of The Blood Hunter has built an adventure around the class, giving fans something tailored for them. A PDF of this product was provided to EN World.</p><p></p><p>From an aesthetic point of view, the adventure is well laid out with excellent artwork. The DM notes are not jarring, but eye catching enough to not be missed. Gordon McAlpin’s cover (coloring by Rebecca McConnell) and interior art is excellent. The presentation is professional and the adventure well organized. There are four parts to the adventure and several appendices.</p><p></p><p>The Blood Hunter begins with a tone setting chapter regarding a werewolf before moving back to the town of Phandelvin, where the main adventure picks up. The player picks up a halfling side-kick (of course) and then sets out on their quest. I suspect the adventure may run a bit long with new players and DMs; even experienced players should find plenty of content to keep them busy as well. There is ample opportunity for role-playing and although the adventure is linear (as most adventures are), the character gets to make some choices and decide how to deal with the various obstacles in their way. </p><p></p><p>Even if it were only for the one-on-one play aspect, I would recommend grabbing this adventure. As it is, The Blood Hunter gets an amazing 5 flaming swords out of 5 for its thoughtful approach and professional, yet artistic, aesthetics. Definitely grab yourself a copy.</p></blockquote><p></p>
