[QUOTE="Notmousse, post: 3239691, member: 39739"] Unkabear: It's possible to have had enough contact with Kobolds to learn the language. But I suggest that everyone have one shared language aside from Common. In my campaign it'll be a semi-functional version of Esperanto. Djheins33: I like the history you have for your character. He'll have come from one of the savage tribes of orcs, instead of the more civilized orcs. I'll have to give you some info on Ownka, and her husband. SolosAddie: The dragon you had slain was a pinata made my the Brownie republic for their St. Bartleby's parade. Greedily stealing that 1,000,000 Brownie Points from the pinata, a stray Grick notices your act and tells the Brownies. When you go to the money changers you're told that there is a limit of 50,000 units of money per transaction. When you have it changed to local currency you find that 50,000 Brownie Points convert to roughly 1/8 of a Jaj (the copper piece) for 2.5 Jaj (pronounced Jahz). Unfortunately for you the minimum charge for money changing is 5 Jaj, leaving you owing 98 Jaj. Furthermore, this has bankrupted the Brownie economy, causing mass riots and unrest in the brownie kingdom, resulting in the beheading of the council of princes, the high cleric, and an unwary poodle that wandered from home. Once the revolution has come the Brownie Liberation Army Infantry Regiment (or BLAIR for short), tracks you down and relieves you of your family jewels for taking theirs. And... Since you're all busy making histories and being good gamers, here's a special treat from Santa GM. Where the action starts! Thomas' Tumbler, whose sign is a mace and scripture within a giant bottle suspended by weathered rope, is named for one of the ... 'heroes' that brought the age of advancement. Stories range on what kind of man he was, but all can agree that he liked his drinks. During the first days of the current age it was used as a meeting place for a few of the first treaties signed forming the Great Kingdom. It's held the reunions for the surviving heroes that brought the new age (including an aspect of Hikaru), and has launched a thousand brands of alcohol. Today's Thomas' Tumbler provides none of the atmosphere one would associate with a building of any importance, historical or otherwise. The main tavern feels much smaller than it actually is, with the bar dominating the room as it spans the entirety of three walls. The world's drinks are collected here, but remain largely untouched by the local customers. Pipe loving customers over a couple hundred years has turned the air within Thomas' Tavern into a potpourri of smokey scents. The three levels that make up the old building show obvious signs of age and style changes. The first level has a partition added to the south to serve as Franklin's, the current owner, living quarters. The addition is obvious as the doorway to his quarters is no more than a hinge and handle applied to the cut out portion of wall. Second level is much sturdier than the first, made entirely of hard woods and an invisible central floor to view the first. A few private rooms are built along the southern wall, over the owner's quarters. This floor houses most of the visitors the village receives that are not housed by locals. Third level is reserved for the high paying customers, the kind that drink from the large quantity of foreign and export alcohols. Entirely financed by Queen Tomo for her semi annual visits to the village. Since that time it has been the home for all Queens, and their families when visiting the area, and has become tradition for the village's families to send at least one representative whenever she visits. The 'fourth' level is a loft, which has some hay for insulation. Often over crowded in the winter, the Tumbler has taken to using makeshift tables for extra customers. Some older folks have come to habitually drinking whole bottles in the loft, with the wiser generation. While over the third level, it's accessed by a ladder, bypassing the third level entirely.
