Well, hello everyone; I wanted to start a good game, but could not find the options i want, so I think I'm going to create my own. Ive done lots of RL dnd, and a bit of forum-based RP, but nothing in the way of forum DnD. Should be interesting, and I hope i could get support from you experienced people if I need any. But here I start: The verdant land of Syrael The format is DnD 3.5 edition. Characters will start at level 6 with 8k gold in total resources. no monster races, anything other than what is in the players guide will have to be approved on a one on one basis. Im thinking five players, that depends on submission number/quality. No more than eight, for sure. Any class out of the players guide or multiclass combination is fine, but any prestige classes once again have to be approved on a one on one basis. When it comes to submission, first post the completed character sheet, followed by background, my email is Dizkord (at) hotmail (dot) com, or you can email me. Here is some background for the Land of Syrael that you will adventure in: Syrael is a verdant land, populated by a semi-democratic people that believe firmly in honor, but also the strength of warrior. Think Aztecs without the human sacrifice. Anyways, they are led by a King, who can only have a successor designated by the people as truley worthy. When one of his sons is 25 years old, in order to be designated worthy, he must adventure for ten years, and then return with all the tales and proof of having shown true glory. These men, family to the King himself, are known as the Archs of Syrael. However, beleiving in democratic values means that Anyone can become King, if they prove themselves worthy to the whole of the Land. If none of the Archs return in their alloted ten years, or before the King himself dies, the Land turns to their most worthy warriors and leaders and nominates the most notable, who undergo the Games; a process designed to weed out the weak and to choose one man as the most noble, honorable, and powerful to start the next Ruling Line. This process was outlined ages ago by the Wise Ones, who designed Syraelic society. Syrael was ages ago split from the larger mainland, and divided by a huge network of reef and Kraken-lair that prevents much travel between Sryael and the Outside, as they call it. Think Madigascar and Africa, except that Syrael is approximatly one fifth the size of the Outsider's lands. Syrael is a verdant land whose winter is very light and rarely with snow. There has not been conflict between the Syraelic people in a long time, but a darker age is breaking. On the edges of the Land, tribal Orcs wax strong, and some say the Trolls and Ogres decend from the single tall peak of Syrael as they go into a particularly cold and snowy winter. On the inside, the Syraelic society is dividing and splitting along faction beliefs, spurred by the falure of the Kings Eldest son to return after his alloted 10 years. The Kings only other son has dissapeared from the face of the land, and the people murmur that he will also fail to return. Because of this, the ambitious swell in their ranks, and venture forth in search of Fame. Across the land, dragon caves are being besieged, armies gathered, giants attacked, necropolisis plundered. There is much for a small group of adventurers to approach, but also much unjustice being done to the lower classes. Slavery has sprung up, a filthy plauge that refuses to dissapear or be cured. The great forest groves, once sanctuaries for the forest folk, are being encroached upon. Among this all, the excursions of Orcish raiding parties and angry Necromatic hordes attack the great Walls of Syraea Herself. The strong prosper. The weak suffer. Mountains of gold and a chance at the greastest reward of all, the Kingship, await you.
