[QUOTE="penance, post: 3102787, member: 45645"] Ha! I can tell already that this is going to great; Not many people around where I live can absorb storyline with such understanding. :P There are few adventureors with the strength to run around soloing, it is generally accepted to enter into a 'quest-type deal' as a business contract between equals; indeed, there is the great Adventerors' School, which is basically an investment business. "we give you 'x' supplies, you bring us back y gold.' or something along those lines. Everyone recognises the wisdom of working in a group. And as far as magic goes, every one of the elite Kings Guard is a spellsword, which is a tradition that goes back the the First King Himself (they also use lots of scythes.) {The Kings Guard is a bodyguard of people sworn into fealty to the crown, and the only people who cannot attain for the Kingship. (even felons and the like have a chance.) Anyways, they are held in very high respect, and more than a little fear. Magic is generally seen as a skill to hone and focus just like skill with a sword. Cleric adventurerors are much harder to find, and so the business of healing potions is a big one. I would allow a cleric if a player wanted, but it should be known that that would draw attention to him, even dislike.... perhaps a good storyline bit... :) As far as gods go, the ones listed in the standard 3.5 PG should be suffecient, with these qualifyers: the evil gods are not worshipped in the open; the neutral gods are worshipped primarialy in groves far from cities; the lawful gods are worshipped in monastary complexes with only the most powerful of the order leaving to adventure: otherwise they often act as judges and they have a contingent of fighter/clerics and a part of the Kings Bodyguard.
