Hullo, I just wanted to let folks in the general EnWorld community know that I've been running some gladiatorial style games over OpenRPG, using the Dungeons And Dragons 3.0/3.5 rules, for anyone interested in playing or, especially, DMing some matches themselves! I run gladiator matches usually once or twice a week, though fairly irregularly, and can run them at many different times of day or night to fit peoples' schedules. It'd be cool to see some new folks join in the fun, playing their own gladiators or running matches for eachother!
My gladiator matches are held in the Arena at the capitol of the hobgoblin empire, in a setting called The 13 Kingdoms, a cooperative "Living" campaign setting for D&D developed nearly a year ago by a community of experienced and active roleplayers. The 13 Kingdoms community is simple and easy to join, with a detailed setting guide PDF for download free at the website. The 13 Kingdoms uses all the races and classes from the 3.0/3.5 Player's Handbooks (currently, some DMs use 3.0, others 3.5), plus a handful of new races as well as several creatures from the Monster Manual, available as regularly playable races!
Playing in The 13 Kingdoms requires little effort beyond showing up for games and occasionally posting on the message boards hosted by EnWorld, and participating in gladiator matches is even easier! To join the gladiator games, simply become a member of the forums for The 13 Kingdoms and check the Questing For Adventure forum, and look for the most recent gladiator match announcement. Post a reply stating your interest, and send me an e-mail through the link in the gladiator announcement post, and make sure the heading mentions D&D, T13K, or the Arena matches, so I know the e-mail isn't spam. Whether you read the setting guide PDF or not, I'll tell you whatever info you need to create a gladiator quick and easy. If you might want to join a regular campaign, run an adventure/campaign, or run some gladiator matches, feel free to post such on the Questing For Adventure forum!
