Both games can play more than four people. Apples to Apples has the added benefit of inducing humor in it's participants as they try to match nouns to adjectives (just, trust me, it isn't as dry as it sounds) while at the same time allowing them to get to know one another better - without the overt ribaldry of something like Cards Against Humantiy. Tsuro is just a lovely game to watch happen and is such a relatively relaxing game that people can converse freely and don't mind when they eventually go out, because the game is still fun to watch others play.
There are a number of good choices depending on where you think her interests might lie. Lost Cities is an excellent two-player card game with a simple rules set. It plays in about 20 minutes or so, has nice art work and generally seems to come first in the "I play but my wife doesn't how can I win her over" category. If you are going 4 players, dinner and wine, you are probably going to want something that doesn't require a lot of high adrenaline and massive amounts of 'thinkiness'. For that I'd suggest either Apples to Apples or the absolutely gorgeous and zen-like Tsuro. Apples to Apples takes about 45 minutes and Tsuro can be anything from 15-45 minutes depending on the level of skill involved. Also, I'm sure idlemichael can make some good suggestions as well.
