Do reviews matter?

I'm wondering, as a publisher, do you find reviews help sell your products? Do the comments on RPGNow or the small reviews on DTRPG boost sales? Is it better to get a review on RPG.net or on ENWorld? Is it better to get a mediocre, or even bad, review than none at all? Or does it not matter, are sales not significantly affected?

I'm not talking about buzz and forum recommendations, I'm talking about proper reviews (even if they are really short comments like many on RPGNow).

Reviews, both positive and negative, help give me the motivation to write. Otherwise its hard to tell whether others care at all about the work I produce.

I like to see any review of a product, whether it's Positive (hopefully!) or negative.

I want to know what people thought about the particular product, why they liked it and especially what they didn't like.

It gives me insight into ways I can make future releases better.
I look at my work as an ongoing process. Nobody is perfect (Though Phil Reed and Chris Davis come very close!!!), and with that in mind it's always good to try and learn from reviews.
