Seriosly though, has anyone else noticed that 3e actually ressurected the human PC. I can remember numerous points in our 2e game when there wasn't a single human, but I don't think that has been the case at any time with my current campaign.
There are no "stock" human PCs in my campaign. As the game is set underwater, they would have to hold their breath for a very very long time.
Granted, there are human NPCs, known as Those Above, who live atop the hydrosphere in the unbreathable void. They keep tossing their dead into the sea. Litterbugs.
My campaign has plenty of human NPCs, and suits humans fine, but we just think humans, with few exceptions, end up being dull boring characters.
