This is where you make your first impression on many people. The better the impression you make, the better your prospects later on. It matters. It matters because it gives those who read you some idea of what you're like, and what you're capable of. True or false, sloppy writing gives people a bad impression of you. Do you really want to alienate people who may, sometime in the future, have some say on whether you succeed or fail in your chosen career?</blockquote>
