Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mr.Binx" data-source="post: 294010" data-attributes="member: 4691">Yeah, Skoal is correct.  It does state in the FAQ that you don't get the AoO.  Fortunately, it's not errata and simply advice.  This is one of those moments where I would have to disagree with the Sage.  If the caster puts himself in a position that purposfully provokes an AoO then I think the opponent deserves their AoO regardless of whether or not they are also making a readied attack action.  It all comes down to the fact that if the caster is taking a risk by staying within a threatened area and casting normally.  Combat risks often have dire consequences.  Otherwise, if the caster knows the player has a readied action to attack when he casts a spell then he wouldn't even bother combat casting because he wouldn't be provoking an attack of opportunity and only has to make a concentration roll if he gets hit instead of having to make two separate concentration rolls if he gets hit.</blockquote>
