I played in a game once a month that had a campaign site, and I found it incredibly useful -- it was a great way to remember what had happened at the last month, and to stay immersed in the game between sessions. Since I was starting up a game that would also meet once a month, I figured I'd go the same route. Initially, I put up journals/Story Hours of the sessions, summaries of what happened in each session, the PCs, notes on NPCs, house rules, character creation guidelines, and other info. As the game progressed, it's expanded to include artwork, photos, setting info, PC journals and other stuff. Oddly enough, the most-used element turned out to be current versions of the PCs -- if someone forgets their sheet or can't show up, we print one off and we're ready to go. Link: http://3d6.org/. :) I enjoy working on it, although it can be a pain when my job is particularly busy (like now). One of my ideas was to make as much of it player-supplied content as possible -- journals, art, and other things earn you bonus XP in the game every time they're done. This lets me update the site without having to do all the work, and gets the players more involved. Some of them enjoy it, others don't want to do it (which is fine -- it's optional!), and overall it's been a reasonably successful idea. I always find that if I don't drive myself to update, it doesn't happen. That's not always easy. ;)
