Please take a look at mine and let me know what you think. I've detailed the area of Dancing Falls from the FRCS. What I did was use the map of the High Forest from the FRCS and enlarged the area around the Dancing Falls and tried to detail it more using Photoshop. Hopefully, you may find this useful and can incorporate it into your own FR campaign. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful, escpecially in regards to overland movement, travel, geological information, etc. I'm not sure what the rules are for posting pictures, so apologies to the moderators in advance if I made a mistake! *Thanks to Eric Noah for pointing out the broken link :) You can find the map here: http://www.geocities.com/dreaded_beast808/ The area known as Dancing Falls is heavily forested and populated by people who seek the solitude and isolation of the area to focus on their own interests without distractions from the outside world. The easiest entrance and exit from the area is a trail to the west that leads to Noanar's Hold. The trail is watched over by a tiny shrine dedicated to Selune. Small trails throughout the area connect the various locations. Other entrances into the area require fighting the river upstream or by climbing the Lost Peaks. The area is occassionaly visited by patrolling bands of Centaurs and Wood Elves, who help keep the area safe and who also keep a watchful eye on the residents of Dancing Falls. Depending on where one is coming from, many of the locations within Dancing Falls are around 10 to 20 minutes away from each other when using the trails and walking. Straying from the trails results in double the amount of time to reach a destination. Dwarven Bridge The Dwarven Bridge is a masterpiece of dwarven engineering. Crafted from stone, it is roughly 3/4 of a mile long. It is an artifact from the time the dwarves dwelled beneath the Lost Peaks and is still used by the current residents of the area. Dancing Falls The Dancing Falls spring forth from the Lost Peaks, creating the River Dessarin. The rumble of the falls can be heard throughout the area. Selune Shrine This tiny shrine to Selune guards the easiest entrance in and out of the area. The Shrine resides on the side of the mountain and contains a telescope, allowing the resident priests to monitor the movements of Selune and much of the area. Dwarven Ruins The current residents of the area harvested the ruins for stone to construct their buildings with help from friendly forest denizens and laborers from Noanar's Hold. The ruins supposedly lead to abandoned dwarven holds and connects with the dwarven ruins underneath the eastern most Lost Peaks. Dryad Grove This is the home to a friendly dryad by the name of Leela. She is on friendly terms with the residents of the area, but is often loathe to leave her tree and grove. She is a bit on the cowardly side, but knows much about the history of the area. Wizard Tower The original wizard who owns this tower has been gone for some time, although only a few of the residents in the area know about this. A lowly apprentice maintains the tower, but with only access to the bottom floors. People in Noanar's Hold believe it to be abandonded, with few knowing about the existance of the apprentice. Old Order Monastery This tiny monastery is inhabited by monks who follow the philosophy of the Old Order. The monks here seek to discover the path to self-enlightenment through training and meditation, desiring isolation and solitude from outside world. Ruined Portal On the bottom of the Lost Peaks are the remnants of an old portal. Slabs of crumbling stone litter the area, forming a crude semi-circle. Although the Portal is obviously ruined, a few of the stones still radiate faint magic. Every so often, a stranger is found here, with no memory of their past.
