No help on the name of the Spider Slayer builder, Viking. I can't think of it at all. And I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the Slayers. They would be great in the same film as Scorpion. After all, it would make sense in a movie to have both be created by the same scientist (they might even have been in the comics for all I know). First, the Slayers are introduced, but aren't a match for Spidey, so they create Scorpion. During the climax, Scorpion could even unlease one of those huge, tank-sized Slayers at our hero. And your point about Sandman, Sagan Darkside, is well taken, but again, he wasn't fleshed out until becoming a good guy (or, at least, less bad). As a regular crook, he never really was big league. Kraven, OTOH, would make an excellent villain. Just amp up his abilities when he's using those "magic herbs" (or whatever they are). You can even do a subplot with Kraven being addicted to this stuff. Add in a sexy, half-naked black girl to play Calypso, Kraven's girlfriend, and I'm so there. :) Or, if instead of increasing his powers, let him tap into the powers of animals. Strong as an elephant, fast as a cheetah, can climb like a spider... Someone else I forgot about was Chameleon. A good "brain" villian to team up with one of the "not ready for primetime" bad guys I mentioned before, like Rhino, Shocker, or Elecktro. I know in the comics, Chameleon and Kraven were linked, but Kraven's too strong to tie down with another villain in the same flick. The Sinister Six would rock, but that would probably be too many foes in one film without stretching it into 3+ hours. EDIT: The Slayer inventor question got answered while I was writing my post. :)
